Independent Voices Celebrate the Power of Music
Timbre Press is an independent publisher based in Denver, Colorado, devoted to publishing a series of anthologies, Stories of Music. These books celebrate music’s positive impact on people’s lives and feature works from authors and artists from around the world. The Stories of Music collection captures the universal nature of music, including stories of generations past and present-day music lovers.
The first volume, released in 2015, won two Next Generation Indie Book Awards—one for the Anthology category and Third Place Grand Prize for Non-fiction. It was also recognized with a Colorado Book Award for Anthologies. Volume 2—released in January 2017—received a 2017 International Book Award for Anthologies: Nonfiction. It was also a finalist in the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the General Nonfiction category.
Timbre Press is a supporter of nonprofit music organizations that increase access to music. A portion of book proceeds are donated to Hungry for Music and Music & Memory.
